Chester Tips: Trinityelitedotcom

Never outside the top two on the all-weather this winter and unlucky to lose the Sprint Championship where his early sectionals were too quick.

The 4.25 Chester is a cracking little conditions sprint and I’m looking forward to how Trinityelitedotcom performs on his return to turf.

Tom Dascombe’s sprinter has been a revelation on the all-weather this winter, finishing 1121212 and moving up 26lbs in the handicap.

He’s an improving sprinter and last time out he put in a career best performance when runner-up in the All-Weather Spring Championship at Lingfield.

Trinityelitedotcom finished second by a head but on sectional timings he was the best horse. The race was run at a strong gallop and by forcing the pace Trinityelitedotcom (finishing speed 99.1%) didn’t have enough in reserve to fight off the more conservatively ridden Alben Star (finishing speed 101%).

With several front-runners in this afternoon’s contest we might see a similar scenario, but Trinityelitedotcom should be ridden more patiently as he drops back in trip and Richard Kingscote will be wary of what happened last time.

Lucky Beggar in stall 1 is favourite after his win at Newbury but I think he was flattered by the result. The field split into two groups with the horses drawn in stalls 1-4 finishing in the top-4 places. The gallop was ordinary and the far side group never changed positions.

I doubt Lucky Beggar will have such an easy lead this time and can taken on with Trinityelitedotcom a more attractive price at 7/2 (William Hill).
