Chester Tips: Four Dragons

Chester Tips: Four Dragons

Favourite vulnerable from a wide draw and showed bright speed before tiring in heavy going on debut.

The 4.20 Chester is a peculiar race because the best horse (Full Intention) has the worst draw (stall 12). To overcome that draw over the minimum trip he’ll have to be some horse and on my speed ratings I have him around the 80 mark.

With the favourite vulnerable we can look at those drawn low but stalls 1-4 house horses that have shown very little to date, or are yet to race. On balance the best bet is Four Dragons. She is reasonably well berthed in stall 6 and showed bright speed on debut at Ripon.

In hindsight she probably went too fast (97.9% finishing speed) on heavy going and on better ground she should see out the race more strongly.

Tom Dascombe has won this race twice in the last four years and knows what type of horse he needs.
