Chester Tips: Dragons Tail

Chester Tips: Dragons Tail

Well drawn and finished a third in an above average juvenile contest at Leicester.

Tom Dascombe and his backers love having winners at Chester and they’ve got a contender in the 4.05 contest. The trainer has thrown several darts at the race over the years winning it twice in 2012 and 2013 and arrives mob handed with five runners.

I imagine Richard Kingscote had the pick of them and I agree with his selection of Dragons Tail. He is well drawn in stall 2 and the horse has a run under his belt.

Twelve days ago, he finished third at Leicester but it looked an above average novices’ race. The first two home are potentially smart, whilst Dragons Tail was 3.25 lengths clear in third.

He fluffed the start but finished strongly and when adjusting for pace earned a speed rating of 80. That makes him a good rather than brilliant but he should improve and can make his presence felt.
