Chester Tip: Dark Shot

Didn't have much luck at Goodwood but ran decent time to finish close fourth without jockey getting serious. Has run well at both 5f & 6f and intermediate trip could be perfect.

Dark Shot doesn’t win as often as he should (2/27) but he’s not had much luck since moving to Scott Dixon and is well capable of winning off his current mark.

Last time out at Goodwood nothing went right for the 5-year-old. Drawn against the rail Theo Ladd didn’t have much option other than to ride for luck and he got none. The pace was no more than even and as the leaders quickened down the hill, he was boxed in with nowhere to go. Dark Shot was only beaten two lengths in a decent time for the grade, without his jockey ever reaching for the whip.

Dark Shot started the season by running fast times over 5f at Epsom and York and it seems he is versatile in trip whilst also showing plenty of ability. The 5f110y of this race could be perfect.
