Chepstow Tips: Swendab
Three-time course winner returns to his optimal trip on turf after a few sighters on the all-weather.
Swendab has finished 337 on the all-weather this spring but they were just a stepping-stone for the 3.25 Chepstow.
Swendab’s record on an artificial surface is 1/21, he is simply a better horse on turf but that’s not to say he’s run without merit. Ignore his last run where he blew the start and go back to the 1 April where he showed bright speed to lead until the final 100 yards.
John O’Shea has been campaigning him over 6f but his optimal trip is shorter and it is good to see he has lost none of his early speed.
The big clue is the return to Chepstow. Swendab’s record at the track is 113520U21 and his only failures have been when rearing at the start.
