Chepstow Tips: Caitie
Thriving under hold-up tactics and only the soft ground stopped her doubling up at Goodwood last month.
The changed to hold-up tactics worked wonders for Caitie at Brighton and although she couldn’t follow up at Goodwood the soft ground wasn’t in her favour.
Having started the season looking relatively exposed, she has kicked-on in the last couple of months. At Brighton she clocked the fastest closing sectional of the race by 0.52s to swoop past her rivals and record a massive (if somewhat dubious) adjusted speed rating of 95.
She’s obviously not that good but again ran with promise at Goodwood. The soft ground blunted her turn of foot but she still finished strongly and was only beaten 0.5 lengths.
There is supposedly quicker ground in the 7.35 Chepstow and the competition is no stronger than she has faced of late.
