Chepstow Tip: Quadra Hop

Better than the bare form when out-battled by stronger opposition. This is easier.

There isn’t much to get excited by in the 5.35 Chepstow but Quadra Hop showed enough promise on his last start to make him a viable betting proposition.

He was beaten by 10 lengths on his seasonal reappearance at Bath but it was a peculiar race. The front two pulled six lengths clear of the field and have since won again suggesting they were much better than the grade. The only horse to take them on in the final 300 yards was Quadra Hop. That big effort ultimately cost him several places at the finish, but he emerges with credit considering he battled with two better horses.

He might still be a maiden but his best two runs have come at Chepstow where he has finished third and fourth from two starts. His last run hinted at better things, and he might just have progressed enough over the winter to run better than odds of 10/1 (Betfred).
