World Hurdle Tips: Peddlers Cross

Things didn’t work out chasing but he was a smart hurdler, winning 7 out of 9 starts. Big price considering his ability.

I’m slightly surprised that Reve de Sivola is on the drift for the World Hurdle (3.20), he’s not done a lot wrong, beating all his main rivals. I expect the horse that finishes in front of him will win and that could be Peddlers Cross.

He beat Reve de Sivola in the 2010 Neptune Novice’s Hurdle and history could be about to repeat itself.

Peddlers Cross won seven out of nine hurdle races in his heyday, finishing second in the 2011 Champion Hurdle. Things didn’t work out over fences so Donald McCain got him jumping hurdles again, a sensible move.

On his last start he won a conditions event at Musselburgh by 1.75 lengths, it was a low-key return but Jason Maguire had plenty of horse under him crossing the line.

A step up to three-miles is going slightly into the unknown, but on his old hurdle form he is the class act and over priced at 10/1 (Bet365).
