Supreme Novices' Tip: First Flow
Proven in these conditions and showed a touch of class with Grade Two win at Haydock. Has to take a step up in class again but done nothing wrong this season.
First Flow is 3/3 over hurdles with his victories coming on soft ground once and heavy ground twice and he should relish the conditions. The question mark is whether he has the class to win a Supreme Novices’, but he might, after-all he won a Grade 2 on his last start at Haydock.
After that win assistant trainer Mat Nicholls said of First Flow:
“First Flow is ground dependent, he needs plenty of give so plans are up in the air for him. Basically this was the plan and it could be it for the season for him, we’ll see. Some people say horses will be better on good ground but he won’t be running on it. If it were a wet spring that might change things we’ll just have to wait and see how things go.”
First Flow’s win in the Supreme Trial came in a decent time when accounting for the going and he’s a neat and tidy jumper. He’s got something to find with the main protagonists based on official ratings but he’s beaten everything put in front of him with the minimum of fuss.
With Ladbrokes doubling winnings as a Free Bet up to £50 if your horse wins the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, First Flow is a good bet at the prices.
