Ryanair Chase Tip: Frodon
Is 2/2 over this trip on the New course and put up a big rating when wide margin winner at the track in January. Beyond the favourite there is not a lot of recent winning form.
This looks a sub-standard renewal of the Ryanair despite some big names in the lineup. The entire field combined have four wins between them this season and two of them are Un De Sceaux’s. That makes the Mullins horse a worthy favourite but he faces completely different conditions to twelve months ago.
Un De Sceaux has done most of his winning at around 2 miles and a combination of going and trip leave him vulnerable. There are no such worries for Frodon who is 2-2 over this course and distance including in heavy going back in January. That 17 length demolition job of Shantou Flyer earned him a Racing Post Rating of 173 and with a good ground adjusted speed rating, he’s bang there with a chance on his best.
