Albertas Run did me a massive favour when landing this race last year and I’m backing him for a repeat in the Ryanair at 2.40.
The key to this horse is good ground and a distance not beyond 2m5f. When he gets these conditions chasing, his record is: 111121. There is no shame in his one reversal as it was to Master Minded at Aintree last year.
People will be put off by the fact he is 11-years-old but he showed he was as good as ever by winning the Old Roan Chase on his seasonal reappearance in October. He hasn’t raced since but there was no point wasting him through the winter on unsuitable ground. At 10/1 (Boylesports) he is an excellent bet to continue his remarkable run.
