Half-length fourth in the race last year and saves his best performances for big handicaps on good ground.
Trustan Times doesn’t find winning particularly easy, he hasn’t scored since November 2012 but he went desperately close in this race 12 months ago.
Beaten half a length by Fingal Bay and off a 2lbs lower mark he should run his race again.
His form this season hasn’t been anything special but he’s been largely campaigned over fences, with little success it must be said.
His two hurdle starts have come at Haydock (pulled up) and Musselburgh (8th) but we shouldn’t read too much into the results because he stepped up markedly on his form at the Festival last year.
The key to this horse could be the ground. His record over hurdles on going described as good to soft or quicker is 2231448.
Like many he will have been trained with this race in mind but already proven in big handicaps he looks overpriced at 25/1 (Bet365) with ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
