County Hurdle Tip: North Hill Harvey
Two-time course winner who has form with some of the top two-mile hurdlers around. Looks a steal off 149.
The Supreme Novices’ Hurdle is always such a strong race that finishing down the field is still a good performance.
In last year’s renewal, North Hill Harvey finished ninth, beaten 24 lengths, but when you think he was just behind Petit Mouchoir (6/1 for the Champion Hurdle) then you get an idea of the strength in depth of the race.
North Hill Harvey hasn’t been seen much since, running just once this season winning a Grade 3 at Cheltenham. That has kept his handicap mark down to a workable mark of 149.
At Cheltenham, he held off the useful Modus, earning a big speed rating in the process. Considering the company he had been keeping, he finished behind Buveur D’Air, Petit Mouchoir and Limini at Aintree, he must be able to beat a bunch of handicappers.
