Coral Cup Tip: River Frost
Finished a creditable 9th as a novice in the race last year. Been aimed at the race and only 2lbs higher in the weights. Pulled-up last time out but something clearly amiss.
River Frost finished ninth in last year’s Coral Cup as a novice and can put the experience to good use in the latest renewal. He is Barry Geraghty’s pick and according to connections has been aimed at the race for some time, probably a year at a wild guess!
The reason he isn’t much shorter in the betting is because he pulled-up last time at Kempton. He was sent off at 8/1 so something was clearly amiss and if fully recovered i’m expecting a return to the form that has seen him win three times in nine starts for Alan King.
Only 2lbs higher than last year and with experience under his breaches and in the saddle he is a tempting each-way bet at 22/1 with Coral paying 7 places at 1/5 odds.
