Cheltenham 2013 Odds

For those already counting down the days to next year’s Festival we look at some long terms bets.

Champion Hurdle 2013 Betting:
Hurricane Fly and Rock On Ruby share favouritism at 6/1 with Bet365. Willie Mullins made no excuses but the impression is that Hurricane Fly ran flat, it was only his second race of the season in a truncated campaign.

Rock On Ruby is a year younger and you would expect him to make a bold bid to retain his title. Cheltenham brings out the best in him with two wins and two seconds from four starts at the track.

Supreme Novices’ Hurdle winner Cinders And Ashes is 20/1 with Ladbrokes to take the Championship race next year, with Donald McCain already calling him a Champion Hurdle horse.

Queen Month Champion Chase 2013 Betting:
Sprinter Sacre was a most impressive winner of the Arkle and is 11/8 with Betfred to win the Champion Chase. Sizing Europe is getting on in years leaving Finian’s Rainbow the most likely challenger at 6/1 (Paddy Power).

Don’t right off Cue Card at 20/1 (Boylesports) who showed admirable tenacity to chase Sprinter Sacre home in the Arkle.

World Hurdle 2013 Betting:
It is a one horse race again. Big Buck’s is 15/8 (Boylesports) to win the race for a fifth time and who would back against him.

Gold Cup 2013 Betting:
With Long Run below par and Kauto Star pulling up, the bookmakers don’t think 2012 was a vintage and are already looking to the future. That explains why two novices top the betting. Jewson winner Sir Des Champs is the 6/1 favourite, with RSA champion Bobs Worth close behind at 8/1, both with Bet365.

Long Run has endured a difficult season but at 10/1 he isn’t one to write off just yet. Synchronised is also 10/1 to retain the Gold Cup, both with Boylesports.
