Chelmsford Tips: Charlies Mate
Won his last two races and can defy a 7lb rise because he’s not been forced up in grade. Ran 73 sectional adjusted speed rating last time.
Charlies Mate is bidding for a hat-trick in the 6.55 Chelmsford and there is every chance he achieves it.
Last time out he quickened off a steady gallop to win by 2-lengths and although he has gone up 7lbs he races in the same grade this evening.
At Kempton he ran the fastest closing sectional of the race and an already good speed rating gets upgraded to 73.
This evening he races off a mark of 74 and he is good enough to win in this grade despite the extra weight.
He is a previous course and distance winner and will take all the beating at 2/1 (BetVictor).
