Chelmsford Tips: A Momentofmadness
Undefeated in three starts on the all-weather and showed tremendous early speed again at Goodwood.
The 6.40 Chelmsford is a cracking little sprint, don’t blink or you’ll miss it. The race is crammed full of early speed but there won’t be many quicker than A Momentofmadness.
The 4-year-old is 3/3 on the all-weather and is at his best on a sharp turning track. Last time at Goodwood he did a shade too much and got caught up the hill. His finishing speed of 96.6% was slower than par and indicative of too strong a pace.
In defeat, he earned an adjusted speed rating of 94 and that marks him out as a sprinter of some potential. He is well drawn to attack and if Andrea Atzeni manages to save enough energy, he should win.
