Chelmsford Tip: Robot Boy

Both Udontdodou and Royal Birth have strong claims on their last runs; especially Stuart Williams’s charge who clocked a 21.17s closing sectional at Lingfield but they are right at the top of their marks and might come up short.

In opposition Robot Boy could be the horse to cause an upset. His 5f record on the all-weather is 1325, with the last three of these coming off triple figure marks. He races off 99 at Chelmsford and although he has a 117-day break to overcome he finished the turf season well with a second place at Ascot.

Last February he finished ahead of Royal Birth at Wolverhampton and if he does so again, he’ll go very close to winning.
