Chelmsford Tip: Courageux

Slowly into stride on racecourse debut but shaped with promise and clocked the fastest closing sectional of the race. Plenty of improvement to come; an interesting contender.

If anyone is at Chelmsford tomorrow could you they put in a claim on my behalf for Courageux - you’ll get your money back!

The 2-year-old colt has only raced once and is therefore open to plenty of improvement but he’s already shown ability. From stall 8, he was slowly into stride in a race run no more than a moderate gallop. He was too far back to mount a challenge but still covered the final 2f quicker than anyone else; all achieved on his racecourse debut.

On pedigree he should enjoy the all-weather (his dam won on an artificial surface) and perhaps Marco Botti is letting him go because he has so many good horses. Either way he is a bargain.
