Chelmsford Tip: Computable

Inconsistent sort who relies on getting a soft lead. Paid for setting overly strong pace on last two starts but easy winner the time before. Unexposed on the all-weather.

Computable is a difficult horse to catch right but that is mainly down to his running style. The 4-year-old likes to get things his own way and when he does he can make the opposition look ordinary.

Three starts back, he demolished a competitive field by 2.75 lengths and on his next two starts beat a grand total of two horses home. In mitigation he was taken on for the lead both times and did too much in front.

Unexposed on the all-weather, Chelmsford looks the right place to start as it is difficult to make up ground from off the pace. Stall 5 is close enough to the rail to attack and having already won around a bend during his career, he could surprise and bounce back to form.
