Chelmsford: Leap Abroad

Drawn in stall 11 last time at Kempton and raced 3-wide throughout. Still had energy reserves to battle down the straight and finished a highly creditable second. Run deserves a big upgrade.

Wide draws aren’t always a death knell on the all-weather but they are if you stay in that position around a bend. That is what happened to Leap Abroad at Kempton last time out and it was a fine effort to finish second under the circumstance.

James Doyle stayed prominent (and wide) for the entire race and to his credit the horse rallied up the home-straight whilst the winner enjoyed a dream run around the inside. I expect a good run from Leap Abroad and although i’m not familiar with the 7bls claimer doing the steering, Mohammed Tabti has winners to his name and is a regular for Paul Cole.
