Chelmsford: Crush And Run

Threw down the gauntlet to much more experienced rivals when a close third on debut at Lingfield. Finishing upsides the potentially useful Pink Crystal reads well.

Crush And Run is taking a bit of a walk in the early market for the 5.15 Chelmsford but there was plenty to like about his debut. Taking on more experienced horses, including the potentially useful Pink Crystal, he served it up to them and finished well clear of the fourth horse.

The early pace was steady so the time doesn’t add up to much but the collateral form looks good. Visually there was lots to like and if anything he tired in the final half-furlong and a drop in trip looks sensible. Richard Hughes as an excellent record with his 3-year-olds at Chelmsford and I think Crush And Run should be closer to the penalised Shanko in the market.
