Catterick Tips: I’ll Be Good

One-dimensional front-runner who can be useful on his day. Well drawn to attack and will enjoy the sharp track.

I’ll Be Good is an all or nothing type horse but today could be a going day in the 2.55 Catterick.

Alan Berry’s sprinter is fairly one-dimensional, he blasts from the gates and tries to hang on. He did so to great effect at Wolverhampton in January, making all to win by 3.5 lengths in a fast time.

Since then we have seen the downside to having one running style. He’s been involved in pace duels on the all-weather and finished tired and well beaten; whilst last month at Ayr he blew the start and never got to the front, although he rallied surprisingly well to finish fourth.

Last time out at Windsor he had no chance up in grade and trip but returned to his proper level he could go close.

Favourably drawn in stall 2 and on a sharp track where front-runners can be difficult to peg back he is an outstanding bet at 12/1 (Bet365).
