Weeton returns to the scene of his debut ten days ago and connections must be hoping for better luck. The form book says he was beaten a head but that doesn’t tell half the story.

Restrained behind a steady pace, he came with a strong run up the fair rail only to be baulked in the shadow of the post by the runner-up veering across him.
