Carlisle Tips: Lucky Dan

Benefited from a change of tactics to win his last race at Chester. More of the same expected.

In handicaps of exposed horses like the 3.30 Carlisle I’m always on the look out for something new and a change in riding tactics could give Lucky Dan the edge.

Used to being held-up off the pace, connections decided to ride him more prominently on his last start at Chester. This seemed to spark his interest as he scooted home to win by 3.25 lengths.

He faces a similar race at Carlisle today. Drawn low, he should be able to hold a good position on the inside rail whilst chasing the only pacesetter in the race – Da’Quonde. His current handicap mark is not beyond him, therefore at 9/2 (Paddy Power) it is worth sticking with the rejuvenated Lucky Dan.
