Brighton Tips: Patanjali

Brighton Tips: Patanjali

Ran better than bare form three starts back, clocking fastest closing sectional despite struggling for a clear run.

The 7.10 Brighton isn’t the strongest of races but it’s the sort that Patanjali is capable of winning. Eve Johnson Houghton’s filly is one of the least exposed runners in the field, which in poor company is some cause for optimism.

On her seasonal reappearance at Bath she ran much better than the bare result. She tried to quicken off a steady gallop (104.1% finishing speed) but was stuck behind a wall of horses. Despite these problems, she managed to clock the fastest closing sectional in finishing sixth.

She’s had excuses since then, soft ground followed by wrong trip (10f) and returned to her optimal conditions she has a chance.
