Brighton Tips: Excellent Aim
Two-time course and distance winner who was as good as ever on the all-weather over the winter.
With the going at Brighton reported as good to soft and with further rain forecast during the day the lucky last could become something of a slog.
Unfortunately, the 5.45 contest is full of horses with form on fast ground therefore it could be ripe for surprise. Excellent Aim has at least won on good ground and the deep Fibresand surface at Southwell and he might prefer more cut as he gets older.
Apart from the ground, there is plenty to recommend him. He is a two-time course and distance winner and won at Southwell over the winter.
He is 5lbs higher than his last winning mark but Jane Elliott takes off a useful 7lbs and she is 2/3 at Brighton.
Two starts back Excellent Aim clocked a rapid 21.95s closing sectional at Lingfield and although he’s been off for 73 days, the price is worth the imponderables.
