Brighton Tips: Clear Spring

Won two of his last three, clocking speed figures that are well ahead of the pack.

The 3.15 Brighton is a weak race where Clear Spring is the standout horse according to my speed ratings. He has won two of his last three starts clocking times that the majority of the field can only dream of. Only Homeboy and Amber Heights have come anywhere near the level of performance needed to compete, but both are still maidens.

If it wasn’t for Clear Spring’s last run, then he would be considerably shorter in the betting. After a sluggish start, his jockey chased him round the pack to try get into a good position but failed. This early move used up too much energy and he tired at the finish.

That run is easily forgotten and a repeat of the form that saw him romp to a 3.5 length victory at Lingfield makes him the best bet at 11/4 with Paddy Power.
