Brighton Tip: Nautical Haven

I’ve been going back and forth with the 3.25 Brighton and was going to skip it completely but have decided to chance my arm on an outsider in the shape of Nautical Haven. In truth it’s a race where you can’t make a strong case for any of the runners. Conditions and/or recent form bring doubts to all the runners but at least with Nautical Haven we get a price.

During the winter he ran several good races for Kevin Ryan, finishing second on four consecutive occasions and running some good speed ratings in defeat. Those runs were over 6f on the all-weather, therefore 5f on softish turf might not suit but he’s worth the risk.

Suzi Best is probably still getting to know the horse, therefore recent performances can be taken with a pinch of salt. He will need to leave his recent form behind but he had ability three months ago and shouldn’t have lost it.
