Beverley Tips: Iptisam
Lightly raced due to injuries but ran a good time figure when second in a 5f Listed race at Lingfield back in March.
According to the Racing Post, Kingsgate Native could be making his final start in the 3.45 Beverley.
A perverse logic makes a horse on the verge of retirement favourite and worse still sees him being backed. There would be no talk of retirement if Kingsgate Native was on top of his game.
With the favourite opposable, attention turns to Iptisam.
He enjoined an excellent winter on the all-weather putting in a career best performance over 5f in the Listed Hever Stakes at Lingfield, finishing two lengths behind Stepper Point, despite suffering interference.
Something was amiss when he was tailed off in the Palace House stakes but his speed figures over the winter suggest he is capable of winning in this grade.
The 5-year-old must have endured his fair share of injuries but if fit he could spring a surprise at 7/1 (Stan James).
