Beverley Bullet Tips: Alben Star
Returns from a long layoff but put in some high quality performances chasing home Pretend on the all-weather during the spring.
Alben Star makes a belated start to his turf season in the 2.20 Beverley but we’ve seen Richard Fahey win with horses returning from a lengthy break.
His strike rate with horses returning from a 100-plus day layoff is commensurate with a career strike rate on turf of 13%.
We last saw Alben Star chasing home Pretend on the all-weather and although the Godolphin sprinter never transferred his talents to grass, he was a very impressive all-weather horse.
The form reads well and Alben Star is equally comfortable on turf. From a favourable draw, he is underrated by the market.
