Iggy Top

Slightly unlucky on his first attempt at 5f. Found his path blocked by a wall of horses and the leaders weren’t coming back to him. Should enjoy this stiffer test.

The 2.50 Beverley promises to be a strongly run race, with numerous front-runners in the field.

Sir Geoffrey is the best of these but I doubt he will get the easy lead he enjoyed when winning at Catterick. His finishing speed of 99.9% was a perfectly judged ride for the track.

Iggy will enjoy the strong pace and if he gets the gaps from stall 1, he should go close.

He was well backed last time out at Musselburgh but pulled too hard over 7f and had nothing left in reserve turning for home.

It’s more likely he is a sprinter, especially judged on his second race of the year, over 5f at Musselburgh. A slow start meant he was trapped behind a wall of horses and although his jockey eventually weaved a path through, the leaders weren’t stopping.

On a stiffer track, he should be able to catch the leaders in the dying strides and he is overpriced at 13/2 (BetVictor).
