Betway Bowl Tip: Bristol De Mai
Jumped poorly in the Gold Cup but still finished a respectable seventh. Youngest in the field and still an exciting prospect at this level.
Bristol De Mai wasn’t a particularly successful tip for the Gold Cup but considering he clattered almost every single fence he did well to finish seventh.
Almost everything in the field is on some sort of recovery mission and his Gold Cup run isn’t bad form; it suggests his rout in the Peter Marsh chase in January wasn’t a fluke.
At 6-years-old he’s got a bit more scope than his rivals and we should also forgive his scratchy jumping. He’s still improving and is likely to be a player in the staying division next season. Before we get there, he can take the Betway Bowl.
