Bath Tips: Abberley Dancer

Bath Tips: Abberley Dancer

Highly tried as a juvenile, ran in the Queen Mary and although not up to that level she can win a moderate handicap off 69.

Abberley Dancer has been highly tried during her young career but might have found her level in the 5.50 Bath.

Last season she ran in a Listed race at York and the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot, she didn’t cut much ice in such high company but connections must have seen something to pay for those fancy entries.

This afternoon she races in a class 5 handicap off a mark of 69 and has shown enough over the winter to suggest she can win in this grade.

Last time out she was only beaten 2 lengths in a useful looking class 4 handicap at Wolverhampton. Held up in rear, she didn’t make much headway off a steady gallop but still managed to clock the second fastest closing sectional. When adjusting for pace, she earns a speed rating of 71, in excess of her current mark.

This evening she switches to turf but handled it as a two-year-old and also has the advantage of Tom Marquand in the saddle. At 7/1 (Stan James) she is a good bet.
