Bath: Indian Sounds

Rated 89 as a juvenile and back sprinting he can move through the ranks. Overcame slow start to clock fastest closing sectional by 0.74s when last seen over course and distance 19 days ago.

The 12.00 Bath is stacked with 3-year-olds but the most progressive horse in the field, is the older Indian Sounds.

I tipped him last time over course and distance and he overcame some setbacks to score decisively. Awkward out of the gates, he found himself in rear as Coronation Cottage set perfect fractions from the front. Thankfully, Kevin Stott was alert to the situation and a big mid-race closed the gap and meant Indian Sounds was close enough to pounce on the line.

Indian Sounds was far better than the half-length margin of victory considering he ran the fastest closing sectional of the race by 0.74s. Factoring in these issues he clocked a good time for the grade, which when adjusted for sectionals bumps his speed rating up to 75.

That makes him very well-handicapped and that makes sense because when last campaigned as a sprinter in his juvenile days he peaked at a mark of 89.

SP returned 3/1*
