Ayr Gold Cup Tips: Blaine
Proven at this level, has an excellent draw and his trainer has won two of the last three renewals of the race.
With high drawn horses dominating the sprint handicaps at Ayr’s Western Meeting the obvious bet in the Gold Cup (3.50) is probably the best bet.
Blaine is drawn 26/27 and is a proven winner at this level. Last time out at York he needed all 5f89y to overhaul Move In Time and a step up to 6f will be in his favour.
He won over the distance when taking a good handicap at Hamilton and his only blip came in the Stewards’ Cup when he got upset in the stalls.
Kevin Ryan has won the Ayr Gold Cup twice in the last three years and Blaine can continue his good record in the race at 12/1 (William Hill).
