Ascription On The Comeback

Ascription On The Comeback

Missed the entire 2014 season but was previously a progressive handicapper and looked better than ever when second at Haydock.

A couple of seasons ago, Ascription was a progressive handicapper for Hugo Palmer, unfortunately he missed the whole of 2014 with illness but he’s on the comeback trail and shouldn’t be dismissed in the 3.10 Goodwood.

He patently needed his comeback run at York but then shaped with huge promise when second in the Group 3 Jury Stakes at Haydock.

Ascription came from off the pace, to run the fastest closing sectional of the race despite struggling for racing room. The winner Cable Bay won by virtue of getting first run, but Ascription was the best horse in the race.

Adjusting for sectionals, he ran a speed rating of 101 – a career best.

Suited by some give in the ground, he might finally fulfil the promise he showed in 2013 and at 8/1 (Bet365) is a cracking bet.
