Ascot Tips: Taajub

Placed on his last three starts but unlucky at least twice, including when hampered by a loose horse.

Twelve days ago, Taajub was desperately unlucky to finish second at Leicester but in the same grade and back at one of his favourite tracks, we don’t have to wait long for compensation.

After a light summer campaign, Peter Crate’s sprinter has shaped well on his last three starts placing on each occasion.

At Ascot unusually he made the running and may not have been favoured racing tight against the stand’s rail.

At Leicester, he was hampered by an unseating horse at the start; it cost him nearly four lengths but he was only beaten by a neck.

He is often seen to best effect on fast ground, chasing a strong pace and has ideal conditions in the 5.00 contest.
