Easy winner of the Portland and this feels like a handicap, 9 runners rated 102 or less but without the weight adjustments
Muthmir was the archetypal Group horse in a handicap when he won the Portland by two lengths and the same applies in the 2.05 Ascot.
Of the 13 runners, nine are rated 102 or lower which puts us into handicap company despite it being a Listed race.
Of the better horses, Steps and Justice Day need some cut whilst Ladies Are Forever struggles to win in this company outside of her own sex.
Muthmir would have won the Portland by even further granted a clear run and I expect him to be running in Group 1 races next season. At 11/8 (Paddy Power) he is a solid bet.
