Appleby Master Of The Fibresand
Weald Of Kent well beaten on last two starts but had excuses. Drops down in grade and should enjoy a less stressful early lead.
Michael Appleby normally dominates the Fibresand during the winter and although he has not had everything his own way this season, he has an excellent chance in the 2.20.
Weald Of Kent first caught the eye when finishing third behind Frosty Berry in November, this was despite blowing the start and then over exerting himself to get a lead.
He subsequent runs at Southwell can be written off – went too fast over 14f which stretches his stamina and his saddle slipped last time out.
This afternoon he races in a class 6 handicap for the first time and looks capable of dominating his rivals at 9/2 (Bet365).
