Ancient Cross To Roll Back The Years

Ancient Cross hasn’t won for the best part of two and a half years but at the grand old age of 12 the handicapper has given him a chance off 65.

Considering he started 2015 contesting class 3 handicaps it’s been a dramatic fall but he’s finally reached a level where he can be competitive again.

Last time out he was only beaten 1.5 lengths by Point North (winner again yesterday) and had to make his challenge tight against the far rail, not always the quickest part of the track.

Ancient Cross ran the fastest closing sectional in defeat, in an above average race for the grade. This afternoon his switches to the Fibresand where his is 3262 and he is capable of one last hurrah.
