The feature race at Haydock is a wide-open renewal of the Betfred Sprint Cup (3.45). There is nothing shorter than 13/2 in the betting but it’s the head of the market that gets my attention.
Adaay looks a top sprinter in the making and although there have been blips along the way they are excusable.
Three of his defeats have come at Ascot and it could be simply that he doesn’t handle the track. Away from Ascot his record is 113111.
The 3-year-old also seems ground dependant; he’s lost three times on good to firm but his record on going rated ‘good’ or slower is 18111.
In summary, we have a horse who is best on good ground anywhere other than Ascot. Combine those two criteria and his record is 1111.
He is a previous course and distance winner and is a good bet at 13/2.
