A Welcome Christmas Card

There can be no excuses for last year’s runner-up now that he’s got his ground.

Christmas is a time for tradition; mince pies for Santa, turkey for the family and Betting Bias tipping Cue Card to win the King George.

It all looked good last year, when Cue Card cruised to the front but the tank rapidly emptied after the second last and he was caught by Silviniaco Conti. I firmly believe Cue Card can stay 3 miles around Kempton just not on heavy ground like last year.

Colin Tizzard’s star hasn’t hit top form yet this season but the vibes from the yard are positive and I imagine this has been his target all season.

At Haydock he ran a good race, beaten only 12 lengths on ground that was too soft and his rating hasn’t regressed significantly since winning the Betfair Chase last year.

With Al Ferof perhaps best fresh and Silviniaco Conti reliant on soft ground and a small field this could be the moment for Cue Card. At 7/1 (Bet365)  he is a cracking bet.
