A Load Of Cobblers
Spinning Cobblers was beaten less than a length on his last start and there is every chance he improves enough to win.
Last time out Spinning Cobblers could be called an unlucky loser. The 4-year-old didn’t quite have the turn of foot to put the race to bed, understandable considering it was his first run in over 3 months, and dropped to 6f meant he was up against speedier horses than he is used to.
Last season he landed a quick-fire treble but is still well treated; only 3lbs above his last winning mark.
Spinning Cobblers won a division of this race last year and his shrewd claimer has placed him well again.
Stuart Williams has a tremendous 21% strike rate (36-170) at Lingfield and Graham Gibbons takes the ride having won on the horse last year.
A step up to 7f is ideal and having blown away the cobwebs last month, we can expect a bold showing at 3/1 (William Hill).
