Wyndham Championship: Daniel Summerhays
Excellent putter who finished T17 on debut in 2011. Recent results suggest he is hitting form.
Daniel Summerhays has struggled off the tee for most of the season (157th in total driving) but in recent weeks he has been showing signs on improvement.
The 31-year-old has finished MC-MC-T8-T11-MC in his last five starts but was in the top-25 for driving accuracy at the John Deere Classic and Canadian Open.
Summerhays’ strength is on the greens where he is 8th in strokes gained putting, often the most important factor at Sedgefield Country Club.
Summerhays finished T17 on his course debut in 2011 and was flying high until a poor final round dropped him down the leaderboard.
If he can continue his improvements off the tee and recent results should boost his confidence, there is every chance he goes close this week.
