HSBC Champions Tips: Louis Oosthuizen

Finished T7-T15 in his last two visits to Sheshan but could have done even better if he had holed some putts.

Louis Oosthuizen can be a risky betting proposition given his constant injury worries, he pulled out of the CIMB Classic last week, but we are adequately compensated by the price.

The South African has a good record at Sheshan with finishes of T72-T7-T15 and those last two tournaments he let slip away.

He was in the final group in 2011 but couldn’t buy a putt on Sunday, his level-par round of 72 sending him backwards as the pack fired a barrage of birdies.

It was a similar story last year; Oosthuizen finished T15 but ranked 63rd in the putts per round as he missed a succession of birdie opportunities on the first three days.

Fitness and form are a slight unknown but the former Open champion finished T6 at the Dunhill Links so his game must be in reasonable shape. At 60/1 (Coral) he is a decent each-way bet.
