WGC Bridgestone Tips: Louis Oosthuizen
Has thrown in some good and bad at Firestone but still one of the best drivers on tour and has a couple of top-10s in this event.
Louis Oosthuizen has a mixed record at Firestone, he has a couple of top-10s but also three showings where he finished nearer last than first.
The South African can be a tricky player to get right, often because of his physical ailments but the Akron track should suit his game. Still one of the best drivers of the ball, 18th in strokes gained off the tee, he won’t be cowed by the 7,400-yard layout.
Oosthuizen’s best results on the PGA Tour this season have come in the big events. He has missed cuts at regular tour stops such as the Houston Open, Byron Nelson and Dean & Deluca Invitational but has top-30 finishes at the Masters, Players and US Open.
The WGC Bridgestone is another valuable event and that might get Louis’s juices flowing. At 80/1 (Stan James) he is a good bet.
