WGC Bridgestone Tip: Daniel Berger

WGC Bridgestone Tip: Daniel Berger

Has three top-5s in his last three starts. Missed event last year but Firestone looks ideal for this long, straight driver.

Daniel Berger makes his belated debut at Firestone having withdrawn on the eve of the tournament twelve months ago and on paper it is a course that should suit him.

At Firestone you need to drive it long and relatively straight, which is fine for Berger who ranks 37th for strokes gained off the tee. He also arrives on a run of form that reads 1-MC-2-5-27. In his last three tournaments he’s only fired one round over 70 and that was in terrible weather on Friday at Royal Birkdale.

The 24-year-old is a multiple winner on tour and inside the top-20 in the world rankings. Competing for majors and WGCs is the next step and he can start his ascent at the WGC Bridgestone this week.
