WGC Bridgestone Invitational Tips: Adam Scott

The 2011 champion has an excellent course record and his near miss at the Open can be viewed in a different light to last year.

Winner of the event in 2011, one of three top-10 finishes, Adam Scott is very much at home on the Firestone course. His only blip came last year when he was still reeling from capitulation at the Open.

On paper he arrives in similar form but his mindset will be totally different. Phil Mickelson won the Open rather than Scott losing it and therefore his third place at Muirfield can be viewed as a positive.

More importantly, Scott is now a major-winner after victory at the Masters. The pressure is off the 33-year-old and he can just enjoy his golf.

One of the finest ball strikers on tour, the course is an ideal fit for his game and at 16/1 (Bet365) I’d be surprised if he wasn’t in the shakeup come Sunday.
