Wells Fargo Tips: Will Wilcox

A statistical phenomenon last year; second in the all-around ranking. Has struggled to recapture that form but signs of improvement during the last fortnight.

Will Wilcox was a statistical marvel last year. He finished the season ranked eighth for adjusting scoring average, second in ball-striking and second in the all-around ranking. It seemed only a matter of time before he won but the new season has been a struggle.

Quite simply the 29-year-old lost form and that can happen with such an unorthodox swing.

It has taken a bit of time for the 29-year-old to find his game again but recent signs are encouraging. He finished T33 at the RBC Heritage on a course that was unlikely to suit and improved with a T15 at the truncated Zurich Classic last week.

Wilcox is still a long and relatively straight hitter and he finished T57 at the Wells Fargo in his debut season on the PGA Tour in 2014. At 150/1 he is a cracking each-way bet with Skybet paying 1/4 odds for a top-6 finish.
